It is true I am a big fan of five guys burgers. This location is no different delicious food cooked fresh. As with most New York City places there is usually a line. I recommend waiting if there is a line. The food is worth a wait.

I love the little cajun fries. They are just delicious and nothing so little about them.

This location is in a great area and open late.

Good to know the burgers are made on orders requests. But what really is a bummer is trying to get a seat here. It's like impossible to eat in when very little seating along with tables.

    Food good
    Space bad

Had big hopes, but not this time.
Burger was dry and over cooked.
    Fries was ok.
Staff was friendly, but need more training.

When craving a burger in the Big Apple, I tend to go to Five Guys. I usually get a small hamburger with everything on it and some small fries. The hamburgers have always tasted fresh and delicious and the small fries are always bigger than I expect: it's put in a smallish cup, but they tend to overfill it and a good amount of extra is in the rest of the bag (gotta love Five Guys always being pretty generous with their fries, unlike most burger places).

What sets this location apart (and why I will usually go to this particular one) is the excellent staff and service. This a busy and major part of NYC, so they're always super-packed and busy. I have never gone here and there wasn't a long line (whether it's business folks, families, tourists etc.). Despite the constant hecticness of the place, the staff are always friendly, ring up my order accurately and are always busy keeping the place clean and making sure condiments are stocked. Just great and friendly people always working hard in a very busy and demanding restaurant.

I'm still mainly a West Coast guy so I still consider In-N-Out to be the best burger place. But on the East Coast Five Guys is definitely a great choice for burgers and I can see why people love them.

How is it possible for a burger to have "everything on it" and still have no flavor? I got the single with no cheese and no mayo for a pricy $8, which is a double patty burger that looks pretty good. Although the bun got soggy after being wrapped for just 15 minutes, I was still expecting at least a little flavor for my investment.

Now I am not a burger connoisseur but I have had some darn good burgers and it astonished me how a popular chain like this could completely fall to the bottom of the barrel of my burger experiences. Basically it was like eating a tofu burger with no seasoning.

On the bright side, the establishment was very clean, there was lots of seating, and the service was prompt. This was a true testiment to the adage "looks can be deceiving." So would I EAT here again though? Nope.
